Pray without Ceasing
“For this reason, since the day we heard about you, we have not stopped praying for you. We continually ask God to fill you with the knowledge of His will through all the wisdom and understanding that the Spirit gives…” (Colossians 1:9, NIV)
Have you ever had that one person (or a few) that asks for help, you give them advice and encouragement, and they go back to the same things they have been trying to get away from? I find this one of the most annoying and disappointing moments that could happen to you when you love them and want them to prosper in all the ways they can. After this happens, you soon begin to question why your words didn’t work, if what you said didn’t apply, or if simply you just didn’t do enough to help them. In this very moment is when we have to realize that we are doing the right thing by encouraging and being the light to those who need it. And more than just helping them out with our power, we got to get God involved in situation with prayer. Men are to always pray (Luke 18:1) and keep that strong bond with God so He can work out the problems we aren’t capable of fixing. Believe and trust Him that person who needs His love will receive it by constantly praying. He hears everything you say and watches your obedience. Although praying without seeing results immediately might get tiring, do NOT grow weary in well doing (2 Thessalonians 3:13). Change will happen according to God’s timing and planning, not ours. There is a time and a season for everything (Ecc. 3:1) so keep praying. And when change occurs, He will get the increase.
If there is anything that is bothering you, I want you all to know that you are not alone. Whether it be family, friends, classmates, coworkers, and even people that do not get along with you for some odd reason, keep praying for them and show them love in all circumstances. Results might take longer than expected, but in the process God will be pleased by your obedience. Take your time this week to continually pray for and about people whom need God’s love. We all need it.
God is love,

Song of The Week #4 (12/27-01/03/12):
Posted by pressforward12 in Song Of The Week on December 28, 2011
This week’s song is called I Like Me by Kirk Franklin featuring DA TRUTH off Franklin’s Fight of My Life album. This song doesn’t correlate directly with the verse of this week but we chose it because we feel it symbolizes how strong we want 2012 to be. We want everyone to recognize who they are and who God has made them to be and to begin to tap into those gifts. The beginning of the song starts with..”I like me, Yo, you like me? Cause I lke me, Do you like me? See I like me, Cause he likes me…God likes me”, and then Kirk Franklin begins with, “Short, big nosed, big lips. Kinda stutter but I never trip. Got my daddy’s swagger and I walk with a limp…never been cute never been fly since I’ve been changed got that twinkle in my eye..” All he is saying is yes, I have these things that the world may say are flaws but when you realize that God created you, those flaws become beauty markers. No matter what anyone might say!
Hope you enjoy the song!

Song Of The Week
Posted by pressforward12 in Music, Song Of The Week on December 1, 2011
As we told you earlier, each week we will present our readers with a “Verse to Dig In” & a “Song Of The Week” that will correlate directly with the chosen scripture. Weekly (mainly on Sunday) the verse for that week can be found in the “DIG IN” tab at the top of the page, but if you ever get behind or want to check out past Weekly Picks they can be found in the “Verse to Dig In” link under the Categories tab in the center of the homepage. The Verse can only be found in the Categories tab once a new one is posted! The Song of the Week (also updated on Sundays) will be only found either at the top of the page on Sunday, by scrolling down the page, or the easiest which would be in the “Song of The Week” link also under the Categories tab in the middle.
The song & verse that were chosen this week go perfectly with the overall mission of Press Forward. We chose the official verse for the blog which is Hebrews 12:1 (NLT) & Something Bigger by MaryMary. The song talks about moving forward, not letting yourself be held down by self-doubt and what the world says, knowing who your father is and fully trusting that he will keep you safe, and just making moves! If this doesn’t scream what were saying then we don’t know what will!
Hope you enjoy! And please comment below and let us know what you think of the choices for the week! Your opinions, comments, and concerns are much welcomed!
God bless,
Press Forward co-founders, Ionee & Fatima
